TRAINING

Training Module Requirements:

Members of Group Executive Committees: Must complete Mod 1 within 5 months of appointment.

Sectional Assistants (Helpers in a Section / Group): Must complete Mod 1 & 3 within 5 months of appointment.

Occasional Helpers: No formal training modules required - But should be inducted by the GSL into their Groups. It is highly recommended that they complete Mod 1 of the training.

All Leaders working towards a Full Appointment: Must Complete Mod 1 & 2 plus 3 or 4 within 5 months of appointment and complete all other Modules (relevant to their position) within three years. (Kidderminster Leaders must complete Mod 10, First Response, within the first 5 months if it is a modular requirement).

Training Advisors (TA): Training Advisors are appointed and assigned to scouters by the Local Training Manager.
The emphasis in training is on knowing what is required by each module, not just attending the course. Those who have previous knowledge (Scouts, Work, etc.) may find they can be verified for that Module by their Training Advisors without further training. Training Advisors are there to guide you through your training, providing support and verification of the Modules you complete. Those undergoing further training will learn all that is required when they compete Mod 2 on a one to one basis with their Training Advisor.

A fact sheet for leaders working towards full appointments can be downloaded here: Training Fact Sheet (.pdf)
